Jones leads sailboarders

Bermuda’s Alex Jones is hot on the heels of Tim Laine of Guernsey in the individual sailboarding competition.

Laine holds the lead with nine points after reeling off three straight wins followed by a sixth, good enough to see him on nine points and topping the chart.

Jones has two seconds, a third, and a sixth to his name for 13 points, while Jersey’s Michael Millar and Andrew Petts of Cayman Island are tied for third place with 15 points.

Bermuda’s other competitors, Scott Mello and Peter Riihiluoma, are currently eighth and 11th after four races.

Mello has two eighths, a tenth and a fourth-place finish, and Riihiluoma has two 13th’s, a tenth and an 11th.

Competition continues today in Hamilton Harbour.
