Professional ballroom dancers will take to the floor at the World Pro-Am Championships this weekend.The first time in Bermuda event is set to take place at the Fairmont Southampton this Saturday and Sunday.World Pro-Am Championships organiser Theo Derleth explained that the two events the 2011 World Showdance Championships and Professional Ballroom Superstars 2011 and the World Ballroom/ Latin Championship Finals and Professional Latin Superstars would include international standard dances such as the waltz, the tango, foxtrot, quickstep, and the Viennese waltz.In addition, they will feature international Latin dances include the ChaCha, Samba, Rumba, Pasa Doble and jive, as well as American-style smooth and rhythm dances.“The evening will feature all the pageantry expected from a world championship including a parade of flags from the countries represented, dignitaries, celebrities and top judges from around the world.“One couple that will be highlighted in the Professional Gladiator challenge on Sunday evening will be Mauriizio Vescova and Andrea Viadiliate, from Italy, and Delyan Teliev and Boriana Delcheveaare from the USA.“Both couples are their country’s representatives and finalists at the world championships.“They are awesome and very exciting to watch.”Saturday tickets are $55 and $105; Sunday tickets are $80 and $171.66.The competition starts at 7.30pm on Saturday and 8pm Sunday.Tickets are available at www.BermudaTix.bm, both Fairmont Hamilton Princess and Fairmont Southampton, and www.worldpromotionsinc.com.
