Elizabeth Mulderig’s children’s book character Do-Boy the dog is at it again. This time he’s eating his way across the Atlantic in a fun new adventure.Ms Mulderig will release the latest in her series of children’s books ‘Do-Boy’s Cool Cruise to Bermuda’ this Saturday. In this story Do-Boy takes a cruise to Bermuda and enjoys some of Bermuda’s most popular attractions including Snorkel Park, in Dockyard, and Crystal Caves and gets to ride a scooter and take the ferry. Upon his return to the ship he is laden with Buy Bermuda bags filled with Bermuda fare.“My inspiration for this book came from being out at Dockyard during tourist season,” said Ms Mulderig. “I’ve been signing my books out at Dockyard and have met many wonderful people. My strongest selling book is Tiny the Tree Frog Tours Bermuda. This book is so appealing because it involves the actual experience of a visitor’s trip to the Island. In lieu of this I decided to write about the cruise ships.”She said she has been on a few cruises herself and noticed that most of the activity seemed to centre on eating.“There is one buffet after another,” she said. “Basically, all I remember about the cruise I took to England was the enormous amount of food. There was a chocolate buffet at midnight! And you know I did not miss one minute of indulgence in that.”The new book will be sold at the Bermuda Book Store, Brown and Company, Irish Linen Shop, Coopers, the Craft Market in Dockyard and other stores throughout Bermuda. Ms Mulderig will be signing copies this Saturday from 12pm to 2pm at Brown and Co.For more information see www.betsybermuda.com.
