An upcoming first-of-its-kind concert will put Bermudian musicians in the spotlight. U Lot will celebrate home-grown talent next week as part of a string of events during Carnival Weekend. DJ Rusty G, the event’s founder, said the concert was about celebrating Bermuda — specifically “our music, our talent and our culture”.

He added: “We have artists creating music that today’s generation is growing up with and there’s something really special about bringing everyone together to experience those songs live, performed at this level. This is about creating memories and celebrating what makes Bermuda unique.”

U lot, a play on the common phrase, will feature a full line-up of Bermudian artists celebrating their best-known songs.

Talent will include Fire Wayne, Aalai, Mr Fotogenik and Working Title, all of whom will be backed by a live band from Barbados.

The event is free for seniors and children under the age of 13, though all children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased online at www.djrustyg.com. The event will take place tomorrow, Friday, June 12 from 4pm to 9pm, on Front Street
