Dill makes debut in Stampede victory

Terrence Dill

Terrence Dill was a relieved man after he made his long-awaited debut for the Buffalo Stampede at the weekend in their 103-100 win over Garden State.Former Devonshire Dragons forward Dill watched from the sidelines last weekend as his team-mates got their season off to a winning start, beating Hudson Valley Kingz 132-114 in the newly formed Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL).Dill, who was unable to suit up for the Stampede last weekend as he was waiting for his paperwork to be finalised, said he was satisfied with his first performance as a professional“It was a good feeling to be out on the court. I didn’t score any points and was mainly focused on defence, so it worked out nice,” said the 24-year-old.”It was a good match-up for me and I enjoyed it and managed to get the rust off a little bit.“It was a relief to get out there, the wait is finally over so I can now actually get out there and play instead of waiting around and hoping for everything to sort itself out.”Dill will now shift his attention to this weekend’s match, against Hudson Valley, the side they beat on opening night. With his first game under his belt, Dill will look to ensure Stampede end the year unbeaten.“It feels as if a weight is off my shoulders,” he said. “I only got a few rebounds but it felt good to be out there with the guys. The actual game was nerve-wracking given it was my first professional game.“It’s back to business now after getting out there and shaking of the nerves, we will look to get another win on Saturday and end the year on a winning note.”Stampede are one of three unbeaten teams, with New York Lions (3-0) and Norfolk True Hope Trailblazers (2-0) also making stong starts to the season.
