Junior basketball teams head to Portugal
Bermuda’s under-19 and under-17 men’s basketball teams will be competing at the Portugal Basketball Festival in Lisbon this weekend.
The island’s young stars will be showcasing their talent in one of Europe’s premier international youth basketball events, bringing together top teams from around the world for a weekend of high-level competition, development and cultural exchange.
“The Portugal Basketball Festival is known for its elite competition, vibrant atmosphere, and global participation,” the Bermuda Basketball Association said.
“Hosted in one of Europe’s most dynamic and safest cities, the event provides an invaluable opportunity for Bermuda’s young athletes to test themselves against international talent while experiencing basketball on a global stage.
“Participation in this event aligns with the BBA’s mission to expand opportunities for Bermuda’s youth, deepen player development and expose athletes to new environments that challenge them both mentally and physically.
“Competing internationally allows our players to grow through high-level gameplay, team bonding and cultural immersion.
“The BBA extends its appreciation to the players, families, coaches, volunteers and supporters who continue to invest in the growth of youth basketball in Bermuda.
“This trip represents an important milestone for our National Youth Programme. We look forward to showcasing Bermuda’s talent on the international stage in Lisbon.”
