BSX rises 0.81%

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) rose 9.57 points (0.81 percent) to 1,188.53 yesterday.

A total of 2,300 shares worth $8,582 were traded.

Butterfield Bank climbed 1.5 percent (two cents) to $1.38 with 1,900 shares changing hands.

BF&M Ltd also saw 400 shares transacted, but its share price held firm at $14.90.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, dipped 16 points (1.8 percent) to 872.
