Ascendant climbs 4%

Ascendant Group Ltd was the biggest mover on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today, climbing four percent.

The owner of electricity company Belco gained 25 cents on the trading of 4,000 shares to close on $6.50.

Butterfield Bank’s eight percent preference shares also traded slightly higher, climbing $1, or 0.1 percent, to close on $1,180, as ten shares changed hands.

BF&M Ltd fell one cent, or 0.1 percent, to close on $16.80. A total of 4,400 of the insurer’s shares traded.

KeyTech Ltd was active with 18,000 shares changing hands, by the telecoms group’s share price remained unchanged on $3.75.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 2.1 points, or 0.15 percent, to close on 1,372.2. Turnover was 33,562 shares and turnover topped $252,000.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 5.33 points, or 0.36 percent, to close on 1,485.43.
