Shares of Belco owner Ascendant Group Ltd rose on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.

Ascendant climbed ten cents, or 1.6 percent, to close on $6.25 on the trading of 5,000 shares.

The most heavily traded stock was Butterfield Bank, which remained on $1.99, as 113,231 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 0.87 of a point, or 0.06 percent, to close the day on 1,388.50.

Volume of shares traded totalled 118,231, while turnover was $256,579.69.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 3.64 points, or 0.26 percent, to close on 1,411.16.
