Shares of Butterfield Bank advanced by five cents, 2.6 per cent, to close at $1.95 after 4,500 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

No other stocks traded on the Index, which closed at 1,343.21, up 22.40 points (1.70 per cent).

The BSX Insurance Index closed at 1,564.16, down 11.52 points (0.73 per cent).
