The Royal Gazette/BSX Index yesterday closed down 4.41 points, or 0.37 per cent, at 1,175.62.

The Bank of Butterfield dropped 1 cent, or 0.6 per cent, to $1.64 after 100,000 shares changed hands.

The bank’s preference shares went up $49.99, or 5 per cent, to $1,050 after 25 shares moved.

Utilities firm Ascendant Group was unchanged at $4.41 after 1,700 shares sold.

The BSX Insurance Index closed down 9.23 points, or 0.57 per cent, at 1,609.35.
