Only 5,000 shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, but that was enough to lift the exchange 4.41 points, or 0.38 per cent, to 1,165.6.

Bank of Butterfield shares improved by one cent, or 0.6 per cent, to close at $1.64 after 5,000 were exchanged.

The BSX Insurance Index finished 3.19 points lower, or 0.19 per cent, at 1,641.95.
