The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged at 1,348.16.

The sole trading of the day was in utilities firm Ascendant, which also close unchanged at $5.75 after 4,200 shares changed hands.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 14.35 points, or 0.84 per cent, at 1,687.23.
