The Bank of Butterfield rose 25 cents to $24 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The increase, equivalent to 1.1 per cent, came after 5,403 shares sold. The bank’s share price on the New York Stock Exchange also increased, up 39 cents, or 1.6 per cent, to $24.76.

Insurance firm Argus dropped 5 cents or 1.2 per cent to $4 after 1,000 shares sold.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 10.24 points, or 0.66 per cent, at 1,564.72.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 7.91 points, or 0.48 per cent, at 1,659.21.
