KeyTech shares fall 12%

Down day: KeyTech and Butterfield lost ground in BSX trading

KeyTech Ltd shares fell more than 12 per cent in today’s Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The telecommunications group slid 35 cents to close on $2.50 as 20,226 of its shares traded.

Butterfield Bank also fell, slipping 25 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to close on $28.50, as 14,003 of its shares changed hands. The bank’s New York Stock Exchange-listed shares fell 28 cents, or 0.96 per cent, to close on $29.

Somers Ltd, owner of Bermuda Commercial Bank, remained unchanged on $13.75 as 400 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day down 16.05 points, or 0.89 per cent, at 1,793.06. Trading volume was 34,629 shares and turnover totalled $455,815.50.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 8.46 points, or 0.5 per cent, to close on 1,700.46.
