KeyTech shares fall 12%

KeyTech Ltd shares fell more than 12 per cent in today's Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The telecommunications group slid 35 cents to close on $2.50 as 20,226 of its shares traded.

Butterfield Bank also fell, slipping 25 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to close on $28.50, as 14,003 of its shares changed hands. The bank's New York Stock Exchange-listed shares fell 28 cents, or 0.96 per cent, to close on $29.

Somers Ltd, owner of Bermuda Commercial Bank, remained unchanged on $13.75 as 400 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day down 16.05 points, or 0.89 per cent, at 1,793.06. Trading volume was 34,629 shares and turnover totalled $455,815.50.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 8.46 points, or 0.5 per cent, to close on 1,700.46.
