Four stocks improve
The value of shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week topped $4.5 million.
HSBC Bermuda improved by 50 cents, or 6.32 per cent, to $8.40 after 2,169 were exchanged. Also jumping higher was Argus Group, which was 20 cents up, or 4.4 per cent, at $4.75 after 864,800 traded. There was also an improvement for BF&M, which rose 45 cents, or 2.2 per cent, to $21 after 2,689 shares changed hands.
Utilities group Ascendant was up five cents, or 0.7 per cent at $7.25 after 1,000 shares traded.
Butterfield Bank shares lost $1, or 3 per cent, to close the week at $32.50 after 10,200 shares were exchanged. On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank's shares closed at $32.98.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed at 1,986.55, down 37.05 points, or 1.86 per cent.
The BSX Insurance Index was 2.12 points down, or 0.11 per cent, at 1,845.24.
