A total of 50,000 shares in insurance firm Argus changed hands, with its price remaining unchanged at $4.55.

And utilities firm Ascendant was also unchanged at $7.15 after 2,000 shares sold.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the Bank of Butterfield dropped 8 cents, or 0.24 per cent, to $32.93.

The BSX Insurance Index rose 8.18 points, or 0.44 per cent, to 1,861.01.
