Butterfield and BF&M climb

Up day: BF&M shares climbed 1.2 per cent in BSX trading

The Bank of Butterfield was a double winner in Bermuda and New York today.

Shares in the bank went up 30 cents, or 1 per cent, to $30.50 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading after 1,952 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield closed up $1.23, or 4.05 per cent, at $31.60.

Insurance firm BF&M dropped 25 cents, or 1.2 per cent, to $20.50 after 1,682 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 11.58 points, or 0.61 per cent, at 1,895.46.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 16.55 points, or 0.90 per cent, at 1,852.95.
