The Bank of Butterfield shares rose 50 cents to $34 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 1.5 per cent, came after 1,059 shares traded.

Telecoms firm One Communications went up four cents, or 1.4 per cent, to $2.94 after 2,000 shares changed hands.

Insurer BF&M remained at $20.60 after 2,500 shares sold.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Bank of Butterfield was up 57 cents, or 1.67 per cent, at $34.66.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 23.04 points, or 1.12 per cent, at 2,073.24.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 8.23 points, or 0.44 per cent, at 1,876.16.
