Butterfield and Ascendant fall less than 1%

Butterfield Bank was the most actively traded stock on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week

Stock worth more than half a million dollars traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week.

Butterfield Bank was the most actively traded stock with 11,837 of its shares changing hands during the five days of trading, as the bank fell 30 cents, or 0.9 per cent to close on $34.

The only other stock price to move was that of Ascendant Group, which dipped 5 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $8.90 as 300 shares changed hands.

BF&M Ltd was unchanged on $21 after the trading of 5,000 of its shares, while Bermuda Aviation Services stayed put on $2.44 after 5,000 shares were exchanged.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 14.05 points, or 0.68 per cent, to close the week on 2,056.76.

In total more than 22,000 shares traded, while turnover topped $524,000.
