Butterfield Bank shares fell by $1, or 2.6 per cent, to $38 after 359 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also trading of 1,000 shares of One Communications Ltd, but with no change to the closing price.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended down 44.98 points, or 1.98 per cent, at 2,221.83.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 25 cents, or 0.65 per cent, at $38.46.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 8.98 points, or 0.49 per cent, at 1,849.72.
