Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by 75 cents, or 1.7 per cent, to $45.75 after 5,734.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were up 47 cents, or 1.01 per cent, at $47.09.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 33.73 points, or 1.33 per cent, at 2,570.52.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 6.3 points, or 0.33 per cent, at 1,910.94.
