Butterfield Bank shares fell 50 cents, or 1.3 per cent, to $39.50 after 100 changed hands on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index. On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were down $1.59, or 4.02 per cent, at $38.01.

On the local exchange, shares of BF&M Ltd fell one cent, or 0.1 per cent, to $16.05 after 400 were exchanged. There was also trading in 500 shares of Ascendant Group Limited, but with no change to the closing price of $17.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 22.56 points, or 0.95 per cent, at 2,344.06, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 9.41 points, or 0.61 per cent, at 1,540.68.
