Shares of Butterfield Bank gained 0.7 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The bank, the only stock to trade on the BSX, added 25 cents to close on $36.25 as 2,500 shares changed hands.

Butterfield’s US-listed shares climbed 12 cents, or 0.33 per cent, to close on $36.74 on the New York Stock Exchange.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 11.24 points, or 0.5 per cent, to close on 2,253.68.

BSX trading volume totalled 2,500 shares, while turnover was $90,625.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 14.39 points, or 0.89 per cent, to close on 1,637.7.
