BF&M shares fall 12% in light trading

Shares of both BF&M and Devonshire Industries recorded hefty falls in light trading on the BSX

Two stocks recorded double-digit percentage falls on light volume in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

BF&M Ltd tumbled $2.05, or 12 per cent, to close on $15 on the trading of 417 shares.

Devonshire Industries Ltd, owner of the Bermuda Paint Company, slid $1.30, or 32.9 per cent, to close on $5.25 as 800 shares changed hands.

One Communications Ltd remained unchanged on $3.50, as 200 shares were traded.

Among international companies with BSX listings, HSBC Holdings fell 10 cents, or 1.24 per cent, to close on $8.15.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 15.15 points, or 0.67 per cent, to close on 2,238.52.

BSX trading volume totalled 4,636 shares, while turnover was $37,383.15.

The BSX Insurance Index added 5.35 points, or 0.33 per cent, to close the day on 1,643.05.

Butterfield Bank’s US-listed shares fell 26 cents, or 0.71 per cent, to close on $36.48 on the New York Stock Exchange. On the BSX, Butterfield most recently traded at $36.25.
