One and Ascendant trade on BSX

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index remained unchanged

Shares of One Communications Ltd and Ascendant Group Ltd traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

A total of 4,599 One shares changed hands as the telecommunications group closed unchanged on $3.50.

Ascendant, owner of power utility Belco, also saw 21 shares trade, as the price remained unchanged on $24.01.

Last month, Ascendant announced that it had agreed to sell the company for $36 per share, a deal worth around $365 million, to Canadian-based Algonquin Power & Utility Corporation.

Among international companies listed on the BSX, HSBC Holdings remained unchanged on $8.20 as 1,281 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged on 2,153.9. BSX trading volume totalled 5,901 shares, while turnover topped $27,000.

The BSX Insurance Index surged 49.35 points, or 3.04 per cent, to close on 1,673.49.

On the New York Stock Exchange, US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank fell 59 cents, or 1.74 per cent, to close on $33.38. Butterfield last traded at $33.50 on the BSX.
