Ascendant shares fall 2.9%
Shares of Ascendant Group retreated $1, or 2.9 per cent, to $33 after 800 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Insurance Index.
Some 36,700 shares of One Communications Ltd, and 289 shares of Butterfield Bank were also exchanged, but with no change to the closing price of either stock.
In New York, shares of Butterfield Bank were up $1.27, or 4.54 per cent, at $29.23.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 9.86 points, or 0.48 per cent, at 1,992.73, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 1.36 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 1,749.55.
In other news, One Communications on September 5 repurchased 10,000 of its own shares at an average price of $3.75 for immediate cancellation. Meanwhile, BF&M Ltd repurchased 2,826 of its common shares at an average price of $17.25 last month. The company advised the repurchased shares were reserved for issuance.
