BAS shares surge 105.9% on BSX
Shares of Bermuda Aviation Services more than doubled in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
BAS climbed $1.08, or 105.9 per cent, to close on a 52-week high of $2.10, as 500 shares changed hands.
Meanwhile, shares of insurance rivals Argus Group Holdings and BF&M moved in opposite directions.
Argus gained 11 cents, or 2.9 per cent, to close on $3.92 as 26,400 shares were traded.
BF&M fell 55 cents, or 2.8 per cent, to close on $19 as 7,308 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index edged higher by 3.3 points, or 0.15 per cent, to close on 2,144.91. For the week, the index gained 4.42 per cent, driven mostly by a 5 per cent climb for Butterfield Bank shares.
The BSX Insurance Index fell 39.84 points, or 2.44 per cent, to close on 1,592.26.
The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank fell 84 cents, or 2.52 per cent, to close on $32.46 on the New York Stock Exchange. The bank last traded on the BSX at $33.41.
