Butterfield gains ground on BSX and NYSE

The Bermuda Stock Exchange had 19,244 shares traded during the week, worth $794,073

The RG/BSX Index closed 28.78 (0.79 per cent) higher at 3,670.38 on Friday, after 1,150 Bank of Butterfield shares ($62,975) changed hands, with the share price rising 50 cents (0.9 per cent) to $57.50 on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

For the week, 12,344 Butterfield shares traded, as the stock appreciated by $2 or 3.6 per cent, as the Index rose 98.62 or 2.68 per cent for the five-day period.

All told 19,244 shares traded during the week, worth $794,073.

LOM was 15 cents (1.9 per cent) higher at $8.15 on a volume of 5,000.

Allshores was down $2 (8.3 per cent) to $22 on trading of 900 shares. Watlington Waterworks finished $1.50 (4.7 per cent) higher at $33.50 after the exchange of 1,000 shares.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield closed 69 cents (1.19 per cent) higher at $58.81 in light trading.
