Role: internet Marketing Manager at The Fairmont Southampton.
What is your job?:
I provide community management of our online channels, including review sites, social networking sites, and sales sites. I create the content and updates for The Fairmont Southampton website and manage our search engine marketing/optimisation initiatives. I also monitor The Fairmont Southampton's presence across the web and create our e-mail newsletters. I do a bit of everything- you can find me doing anything from taking photos and posting recipes to digging through data about online bookings. The great part about this role is that it continues to evolve with technology!
What is your favourite part?:The best part of this position is how much I continue to learn on a daily basis. I get to work with so many different teams within the hotel and I am always learning something new about what different departments do and how they keep such a big, fabulous hotel flourishing. There is a really great community atmosphere among all of our colleagues that inspires me.
What is your least favourite part?:Taking pictures of delicious desserts and not being able to eat them!
What is your most interesting experience at work?:
I get to speak to a variety of people through our online channels it is a lot of fun to connect with people about their memories at The Fairmont Southampton. So if you were wondering, hi, I'm the person on the other side of The Fairmont Southampton Facebook and Twitter accounts!
What would you be doing otherwise?:Writing my first novel. But I can do that in my spare time, right?!
