Two of the six people injured when a car flipped over on Middle Road on Monday are still in hospital.

A police spokesman said the 18-year-old woman who “was more seriously injured” remained in a stable condition in the intensive care unit this morning.

“In addition, the 19-year-old man hurt in the March 12 crash continued his recovery in stable condition on a general ward.”

The spokesman added that another 18-year-old woman who was admitted to a general ward has been discharged.

The crash happened in Smith’s near the junction with Clarendon Road around 10.20pm.

Police said on Wednesday that the driver, a 25-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The spokesman added that the investigation continues, with witnesses asked to contact police on 295-0011.
