Road crash statistics released

A total of 1,224 people needed hospital treatment after road crashes in the first eight months of the year.
Bermuda Hospitals Board statistics revealed 92 of the victims were later admitted to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital acute care wards and 15 to intensive care.
Six of the injured were aged 18 or younger, eight were transferred to a hospital overseas and 86 of were tourists.
There were eight road deaths over the period.
The island recorded another road death last week.
