The doctor son of former Premier Ewart Brown should go on trial around July 21 on allegations that he molested female patients at his Los Angeles office.Kevin Brown was first arrested in July 2008 and charged in February 2009 with 33 felony sex charges spanning a five-year period.His 12 alleged victims include a 15-year-old girl and an undercover vice cop.He denies all the allegations and is on bail awaiting trial at Los Angeles County Superior Court.Speaking after a preliminary hearing this week, Ann Marie Wise, Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles Sex Crimes Division told The Royal Gazette: “We are planning to start the trial in the Brown matter on July 21 or thereabouts. We have another status conference / pretrial [hearing] scheduled for June 23.”She expects to call 25 to 30 witnesses in the trial, which is due to last three to four weeks.The case has experienced delays because the accused had problems securing a lawyer, and it got stuck in a court backlog.
