A man and two women were charged in Magistrates’ Court with laundering more than $300,000.Kiare Hollis, 32, was charged with concealing or disguising property representing the proceeds of criminal conduct and converting, transferring or removing from the country proceeds from criminal conduct between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2011.He was additionally charged with possessing drug equipment, a grinder, on August 4, 2011.Meanwhile Celia Correia, 28, and Shuntai Scraders, 26, were both charged with concealing or disguising the proceeds of Mr Hollis’ criminal conduct and converting, transferring or removing it from the country despite knowing or having reason to know it was the proceeds of criminal conduct.The court heard that the proceeds mentioned in the charges were around $308,000 in the case of Mr Hollis, $120,000 in the case of Ms Correia and $23,000 in the case of Ms Scraders.Because the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court, none of the defendants were required to enter a plea.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released all three on $15,000 bail with a like surety, ordering them to return to court on March 9 for the matter to be mentioned.
