Fifth defendant charged over home invasion

A 21-year-old Southampton man was yesterday charged in connection with last week’s home invasion in Devonshire.Tyrone Pedro was charged of entering a Devonshire home as a trespasser on April 2 and stealing $3,555 of jewellery and electronics using a machete.He was additionally charged with using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence, specifically aggravated robbery.Mr Pedro is the fifth person to be charged in connection to the incident.Pembroke residents Jasmin Samantha Smith, 19, and Shayne Angelo James, 18, were charged with the same offences alongside 21-year-old Sandys resident Terrence Winston Christopher in Magistrates’ Court on Monday.Ms Smith and 19-year-old Dwayne Curtis Brangman were further charged with handling stolen goods, specifically a Sony PlayStation and two games, on the same date.The defendants were not required to enter pleas as the matter must be heard before Supreme Court.All five defendants have been remanded into custody until April 12, when the matter will return to Magistrates’ Court for bail arguments.
