A Southampton teenager has been charged with the attempted gun murder of Lo’torean Durrant on March 19 in Sandys.
Blaine Simmons, 19, entered no plea in Magistrates’ Court, as the charges of attempted murder and use of a firearm is indictable only, and must go before the Supreme Court.
Represented by lawyer Marc Daniels, Mr Simmons stood quietly in the dock as the charges were read out by Crown counsel Larissa Burgess.
Both of his parents and other family members looked on.
According to Mr Daniels, the accused was a Carifta games medal winner for track and field.
Mr Tokunbo denied Mr Simmons bail, and set a court mention for May 9. Mr Simmons was remanded until then.
