Man admits growing cannabis

A Smith’s man yesterday admitted cultivating cannabis after eight seedlings were found on his property.

Makki Talbot Foote, 27, also admitted possessing 13.47g of cannabis, found in a plastic container, but denied possessing drug equipment, specifically a coffee grinder.

The plants and other items were allegedly discovered during a search on October 27.

The matter of the drug equipment was adjourned in Magistrates’ Court until next week for trial. Sentencing for the other matter will take place at the conclusion of the trial.
