Woman denies drug smuggling

A 29-year-old woman has been remanded after being charged with importing cocaine to Bermuda.

Alphia Anita Rollins pleaded not guilty to charges of importing the controlled drug cocaine and possessing cocaine in St George’s with intent to supply. Both charges relate to an incident on June 25.

Other than offering her plea, she other wise remained silent during proceedings, having her lawyer Rick Woolridge speak on her behalf. No application for bail was made.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Ms Rollins into custody until July 12, when the matter is set to be mentioned again.
