A Pembroke man yesterday pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a 15-year-old boy over Cup Match.Magistrates’ Court heard Jose Fernando Serodio approached the teenager at Horseshoe Bay Beach last Friday.Crown counsel Takiyah Burgess said the boy was swimming at the Southampton beach with relatives around 5pm.Serodio approached the teenager and asked if he could “show him something”.He then grabbed the boy’s hand, folded his middle finger, and compared it to the size of the 15-year-old’s penis. The young boy felt uncomfortable and left the water with his relatives.Serodio followed them and started conversation, during which time he was observed holding his penis. The boy walked away, at which point Serodio grabbed his right hand and squeezed it, then winked at him.The court heard Serodio has resided in Bermuda for 20 years, and is currently employed as a landscaper.Serodio’s lawyer, Oonagh Vaucrosson, said he was “just having an innocent conversation and wasn’t aware that what he did was wrong”.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the matter to September 27 for a social inquiry report.Mr Warner released Serodio on $5,000 bail and a surety.Serodio could face a maximum sentence of five years.
