Woman admits stealing from employer

A Devonshire woman today pleaded guilty to stealing more than $500 from her employer.Jennika Rayner Trott, 23, admitted committing theft and false accounting.Crown counsel Cindy Clarke told Magistrates’ Court that Trott stole a total of $585.85 from Clarendon Pharmacy between May 25 and July 6.Trott was caught on CCTV footage on 22 occasions, voiding items from customer receipts and taking that amount from the cash register.A customer noticed a voided item on her receipt which she didn’t authorise and pointed it out to Trott on June 1. The customer then informed the manager.Police were called after two other items were voided suspiciously on July 6.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the matter to September 30, for a social inquiry report to be completed.
