Man denies gun charges
A Sandys man denied possessing a gun, ammunition and drugs during an appearance in Supreme court.
Ramano Charette Jonathan Mills, 26, pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing a firearm, ten rounds of 9mm ammunition and cannabis with intent to supply while in an increased penalty zone — within 300 metres of Sandys Secondary School.
He was further charged with two counts of violently resisting arrest in connection to the same incident, which took place on June 18 this year.
Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves remanded Mr Mills into custody until next months's arraignments session, when the matter will be mentioned again.
Also appearing during yesterday's arraignment session was an 18-year-old who denied three counts of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 14. All three offences involved the same victim, and took place between May and June this year.
The teenager was released on bail, and given a trial date in December.
And 51-year-old Xavier Douglas, of Hamilton Parish, denied charges of theft and senior abuse relating to an incident which took place between September 19 and 22 last year.
Mr Douglas was also released on bail and given a January trial date.
