Driver accused of causing grievous bodily harm to passenger

A Paget man faces allegations that he caused grievous bodily harm to a passenger, after losing control of the vehicle in December 2010.

John Wardman, 29, of Hallelu Lane, is accused of driving while impaired, driving over the legal blood-alcohol limit, causing grievous bodily harm to Alexander Doyle, and failing to provide Mr Doyle with “the necessaries of life.”

As the charges are indictable, and will be heard in the Supreme Court, Mr Wardman was not required to enter a plea when he appeared in Magistrates’ court yesterday. He was released by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner on $10,000 bail with one surety after surrendering all his travel documents.

Mr Wardman will appear for mention on January 31.
