A 23-year-old Smith's has been remanded into custody after he denied breaking into a residence and stealing $4490 worth of items.

Appearing in Magistrates' Court this morning, Akari Trott also pleaded not guilty to damaging a glass door.

The court heard that Mr Trott allegedly entered a Lightbourne Drive, Warwick, property as a trespasser and stole jewellery and assorted items of clothing on May 20.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Trott into custody and set a trial date for September 19.
