Devonshire man admits possessing cannabis

A Devonshire man has admitted possessing 7.03 grams of cannabis.

Appearing in Magistrates' Court this morning, Patrick Hayward pleaded guilty to having the controlled drug in his possession in Devonshire on April 11.

The court heard that the 30-year-old was stopped and searched by Police on North Shore Road, near Loyal Hill Road.

Two plastic twists containing plant material were seized from his front left jacket pocket.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a social inquiry report and adjourned sentencing to November 3.

Hayward was granted $2,000 bail.
