Warwick man denies Flood murder

A 34-year-old Warwick man appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday to deny the murder of Edmund John Flood.

Keivon Eugene Scott pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Flood on an unknown date between September 30 and October 2 last year. Mr Scott otherwise remained silent throughout proceedings.

Mr Flood, 55, was reportedly found dead in his Paget home on October 2. Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons remanded Scott back into custody until the February arraignments session, when the matter will return to the court to be mentioned. Meanwhile, a man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of sexual assault at the Grotto Bay Beach resort.

The incidents allegedly took place on or about July 3, and involve the defendant breaking into two separate rooms at the resort.

Mrs Justice Simmons extended the defendant’s bail, ordering that he return to court on February 1.
