Man denies having $150,000 of cannabis

A man has denied possession of more than $150,000 worth of drugs.

Shaki Simmons, 34, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to two counts of possession of cannabis and one count of possession of THC oil with intent to supply.

It was alleged the drugs, said in court to have a combined weight of more than 4,535 grammes, were seized in Devonshire and Warwick in July last year.

Mr Simmons, from Warwick, was released on $75,000 bail for a further hearing on April 29.

Magistrate Juan Wolffe also ordered Mr Simmons to hand over his passport and report to Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
