Officer charged with destroying tickets
A police officer and two other men were accused of destroying traffic tickets yesterday.
Kyle Wheatley, 34, was charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice by planning the destruction or suppression of traffic tickets between July 1, 2017, and May 8 last year, Magistrates' Court heard.
The officer appeared alongside Calshunto James, 32, and Kenton Smith, 31, who faced the same charges.
None of the men were required to enter a plea because the charge is indictable and will be heard in Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe released the three men on $5,000 bail and adjourned the case until July 1.
