Pair deny assaulting police officers

A woman appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged in connection with an alleged fight at a sports club.

Tschana Wade, 35, one of two people charged over the alleged brawl, pleaded not guilty to assault on a police officer at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club in Hamilton Parish on Wednesday night.

Makhail Saltus, 25, denied three charges of assault on a police officer.

Crown prosecutor Maria Sofianos said that Ms Wade, from Sandys, was alleged to have hit an officer on the back of his neck.

The court heard that Mr Saltus, also from Sandys, is alleged to have thrown an “unknown liquid” at three police officers.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until July 29 and released the defendants on $2,000 bail.
