Two Bermudian-born men have been cleared of terrorism charges after a trial in Britain.Hisham Muhammad, 26, from Manchester was found not guilty of plotting a terror attack.Mr Muhammad’s 25-year-old cousin, Faisal Abu Ahmad, was found not guilty of a failure to alert authorities of a plot.The two were arrested in June 2018 after police raided their apartment in Whitefield, Bury, Greater Manchester.It was alleged the sting operation recovered equipment for an attack on the Castle Armoury Barracks in Bury, as well as for knife attacks.Jurors at London’s Old Bailey court were told last year that lollipop sticks had been used to create a mechanism to drop a projectile from a small drone.Mr Muhammad admitted an interest in weapons in court, but denied he had plotted an attack and that he was a supporter of Islamic terrorism.He told the court he liked to build household gadgets.A jury deliberated for four days before the two men were acquitted.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
