A woman who admitted breaking out of the Co-Educational facility was remanded into Drug Treatment Court yesterday.

Marissa Ratteray, 59, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to an escape of lawful custody.

The incident took place on October 21 in St George’s.

The Crown did not give any evidence, but confirmed after the hearing that Ratteray was the woman involved in an escape from the Co-Ed facility at about 10am last Thursday.

The incident triggered a joint search conducted by police and corrections officers.

Ratteray was found in the area after about half an hour.

The court heard that Ratteray, of no fixed address, was currently in Drug Treatment Court for ten unrelated charges and had been on remand for the last few months.

Magistrate Maxanne Anderson referred the case to Drug Treatment Court on November 12 and remanded her in custody.
